Meet Brian
Brian Watson’s creative career began with writing poetry and performing spoken word in 2000 at Majocco’s Art & Bookstore in his hometown of Plainfield, New Jersey. He made his 2005 debut into acting as an extra in a Pierre Films short film entitled “Mike & Carmen.”
Brian’s efforts continued on camera in 2007 with a role in the American Black Film Festival (ABVV) Independent Best Film nominee “The City is Mine” (Pierre Films), but his contributions were even more impactful behind the scenes. Educated at Hampton University, Brian was instrumental in building a successful marketing and promotion campaign for the film, going to an even greater role producing Pierre Films’ next title “Visions of Yvette.”
Brian’s producing credits include the short film “Grey Matter” by Jake Verligheri and the feature film “Old Man Winter” directed by Zane L’Erario. He’s also produced digital media segments for web magazine Frontline Philly and The Outbreak Creative Group.
Brian has also worked on film festivals such as the Philadelphia Film Festival & Cinefest’08 (Media), American Black Film Festival (Sponsors) ‘09, and Philadelphia Qfest ‘09 (formerly the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival [Patrons]).
Today, Brian leads Black River Life strategic planning and innovation. He’s also spent 20+ years working for Bank of America/Merrill Lynch in Wealth Management Banking.
Brian enjoys photography, videography as well as writing and storytelling, and also operates as an amateur drone pilot in his spare time.
