TEMPLE OF TRAVELING MERCIES

Temple of Traveling Mercies is an immersive, room-sized exploration of migration, kinship and the future. Enriched by live, cross-disciplinary performances from members of the BLK RVR Artist Collective, ‘Temple’ repurposes sanctuary furnishings and family artifacts to imagine a sacred space—complete with an ancestral altar and spectator pew—where the movement of African Diasporic souls is held in reverence.

Living Black Worlds–Group Art Exhibition

Born out of our Black History Month cultural arts festival, Living Black Worlds lives on as a traveling exhibition of visual art and sound exploring the sacredness and futurity of Black mobility.

What began as an on-site collaboration between Phoenix Center for the Arts has now evolved into an ongoing conversation, landing at locations across Arizona and the Southwest region.
